GUADEC 2012 Press Release: thursday's opening session

The Faculty of Computer Science, at the University of A Coruña hosts, from July 26th to August 1st, the 13 GUADEC Conference, which will gather more than 250 free and open source software experts together from all over the world.

You're welcome to come to GUADEC 2012's opening session, on Thursday July 26 at 10:00 a.m., in the Auditorium (ground floor) of the Faculty of Computer Science of A Coruña. The opening talk will start at 10:30 a.m. and will be given by Jacob Appelbaum, network security and privacy expert and a member of the Wikileaks and TOR projects, who will talk about privacy and anonymity on the Internet.

GUADEC pre-registration event

Are you excited about the beginning of GUADEC? We are excited too!

For that reason, a pre-registration event is being organized at Rialta tomorrow Wednesday 25th. This event will begin at 21:00. There, you can get your GUADEC badge and there will be some drinks and food kindly sponsored by Codethink and Open Invention Network. Moreover, a magical Galician ceremony will take place at midnight!

Enjoy A Coruña

If you are attending GUADEC you will find that A Coruña is a nice city to stay in summer. Besides its urban beaches and historical buildings, A Coruña has a lot of cultural options, like theatre, concerts or several exhibitions. The organization will provide you touristic information and suggestions of activities starting, for example, with a beautiful promenade beside the Atlantic Ocean and the urban beaches. Don't forget to visit the "Monte de San Pedro" and "The Tower of Hércules", the only Roman lighthouse in the world that is still working.

GUADEC 2012 Program Published

GUADEC 2012 , the GNOME Conference, has published the complete conference program.This year GUADEC will be held at Coruña from July 26th to August 1st. This year the conference consists in 46 talk contributions, 4 keynotes and multiple lightning talks.

GUADEC 2012 Call for Volunteers

As a volunteer at the conference, you may enjoy special benefits such as a free and limited edition volunteer shirt or free registration during your volunteering days and so on. To sign up, you’ll have to subscribe GUADEC mailing list and include your registration nick, name and surname into the available table at live GNOME wiki.

Call for GUADEC BoF and Lightning Talks opened until June 18h

You can read the call for participations at http://www.guadec.org/lightning-bof-cfp and submit your proposal at the submission system. You can submit any other proposal for organizing a Hackfest, Panel or any other activity in this Call for Participation.

GUADEC Registration is open

GUADEC registation has opened, and we now invite you to register for attending GUADEC 2012 in A Coruña. In order to register you should first create your user in the Indico Conference Management System and then you can continue with your registration. You can manage your registration, your accomodation and meals for the conference.

GUADEC Registration opening soon

GUADEC registration will be open very soon, during this week. We are closing final details to allow the management of group registrations and to allow people to share rooms in the registration system.
